Whether you are a single user consultancy or a multi-national organization, Quest has a configuration option to suit you. We analyse each consultancy’s requirements separately before suggesting a solution. 

Depending on the prescribed configuration Quest can be installed to run on the following databases.
-MySQL Server (Preferred Client/Server platform).
-MS SQL Server.
-MS Access. (Preferred File Share platform)

None of the preferred Quest configuration options require additional 3rd party database licences. All licence fees are included within the Quest subscriptions. MS SQL is the exception to this. Whilst we still support this as an installation platform it is our 2nd choice over MYSQL which we consider to be a superior client server solution for large volume or user sites.

Below are a few sample Quest configurations.

- Single User Runs Quest on a laptop or PC with a MS Access database. - Work grouped Office (Typical start-up office) Several users work grouped together without a central server. Quest data resides on one of the PCs. Generally we recommend that you do not exceed 5 users in this style of configuration. - Single Networked Office with home based workers Quest is installed on the office server. Home workers access Quest remotely via VPN or other Internet based connection method. - Multi-office (2 or more connected offices) Quest is installed in each office and a replication schedule is implemented. Generally data is replicated in real time ensuring candidates registered in office A are instantly available in Office B. This configuration can work across multiple offices across multiple countries. The replication traffic is minimal (a typical candidate record will require 1kb of traffic). - Remote workers (Home based employees, Travelers,  Researchers etc) Whether the worker is a normally office bound consultant working from home or an internet café, or an outsourced researcher working from their own premise, Quest has a solution to ensure your data is easily and securely accessible. For remote access we recommended and implement Citrix, Terminal Services, GotoMyPc, or LogMeIn depending on the exact requirements
